SA is currently seeking a Senior Science and Technology Analyst to support the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research & Engineering (OUSD(R&E)) / Advanced Materials customer.

OUSD(R&E) has the responsibility within the Department of Defense (DoD) for synchronizing Science & Technology (S&T) efforts across the DoD, the Joint Staff, and the Services.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting in identifying and monitoring baseline financial metrics to measure the value of Advanced Materials investments against strategic goals and objectives.
• Supporting and attending designated program reviews of DoD and non-DoD Services/Agencies Communities of Interest and programs.
• Providing analysis and technical and programmatic support to the DoD S&T Reliance 21 Materials and Manufacturing Processes (M&MP) Community of Interest (COI).
• Providing strategic guidance and technical advice to COIs developing, refining, and/or evaluating ARAP Seedling and full ARAP Project proposals.
• Providing support to international programs.
• Assisting the DoD Components in complying with data calls and requirements.
• Maintaining broad situational awareness of research and development efforts involving Advanced Materials developments.
• Understanding the current state of the art of materials for platforms and weapons technology development.
• Maintaining situational awareness of current and emerging research and development efforts involving the Advanced Materials priority areas.
• Producing analytical products, directives, meeting minutes, briefings, reporting documentation, or other requirements necessary for the efficient management of S&T efforts.
• Participating in various working group meetings, providing meeting minutes/action items, and producing draft responses on the action items/tasks.

Clearance:
An active TS/SCI clearance is required; highly specialized candidates with an active DoD SECRET clearance may be considered.

Education:

A master's degree from an accredited college or university is required.

Experience:

Ten (10) years' recent and relevant experience is required. Experience supporting the federal government and the DoD is highly preferred. Proficiency in technical research and an in-depth knowledge of critical, advanced materials. Excellent communication skills, written and oral; briefings and meeting moderation. Ability to work independently with junior and senior staff in a distributed environment while maintaining a strong commitment to deliverables schedule.
