Research Associate, Associate Principal

Job Title

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a professional to support national priority programs through strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.

The key responsibilities include:

• Support the Secretary of War for Science and Technology (S&T) Program Protection
• Advise top Pentagon leadership on biotechnology issues
• Evaluate and secure cutting-edge technology essential to the modernization of national defense strategy
• Represent USD R&E on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and participate in Government-approved conferences and forums
• Assist, prepare and conduct meetings for current Biotechnology issues
• Conduct biotechnology research analysis
• Develop and coordinate concepts and requirements for the application of current and emerging technologies
• Assist and prepare presentations and reports to DoD leadership and outside DoD
• Track the department-wide budget for efforts aligning with Biotechnology
• Maintain and update Biotechnology modernization roadmaps, coordinate roadmaps with key stakeholders
• Make recommendations to the development of Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) pertinent to mission needs and technical capabilities

The required qualifications include:

• 10 years of experience in engineering, biotechnology, and Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E)
• Master's degree in STEM and minimum of 5-years recent experience in biotechnology or an MBA degree
• TS/SCI Clearance
• Excellent writing, communication and briefing

Previous experience with:

• Department of Defense RDT&E mission and processes
• Engineering, analysis of alternatives, integration, requirements, and testing
• Biotechnology programs
• Biological and biotechnology experimentation
• Experimentation of biological effects for RF and directed energy weapons
• RF and directed energy capabilities

- USD $185,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
