Deployment Technician
We’re seeking a Deployment Technician to support laptop refresh projects, asset deployment, and technology modernization initiatives. This role involves deploying, installing, configuring, and supporting Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) such as laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, and peripherals for onsite and remote users. The technician will work closely with deployment, inventory, warehouse, and support teams to ensure efficient delivery, installation, recovery, and asset accountability.
Schedule: Rotating morning/evening shifts based on operational needs. Occasional overtime and weekend support during large deployment efforts.
Key Responsibilities- Deploy, install, and configure IT equipment for onsite users
- Set up laptops, monitors, docking stations, printers, and peripherals
- Perform basic troubleshooting, testing, and cable management
- Scan/process documentation for asset tracking accuracy
- Prepare/test laptops for remote users and coordinate shipments
- Maintain inventory through scanning and data entry
- Recover legacy equipment and process returns for redeployment or disposal
- Support refresh projects, office moves, and new‑hire setups
- Coordinate across deployment, warehouse, inventory, QC, and support teams
- Maintain organized staging/storage areas
- Deliver professional customer service and follow asset management procedures
- 1–3 years in IT deployment, desktop support, inventory, logistics, or asset management
- Strong organization, attention to detail, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a fast‑paced environment
- Able to lift, move, and package IT equipment
- Experience with Windows laptops and desktop environments
- Knowledge of imaging, deployment, configuration, and hardware setup
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with asset management systems and barcode scanners preferred
- Basic troubleshooting for laptops, monitors, printers, and peripherals
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Associate degree in IT or related field preferred
- CompTIA A+, HDI, or similar certification preferred
