Planner-Buyer Supervisor

The Planner-Buyer Supervisor will be responsible for processing purchasing requisitions, managing a team to fill purchasing orders, auditing and properly filing purchase orders, managing orders through an online database, as well as working as a liaison between internal departments and external vendors.

General Responsibilities

• Moderate the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials purchases
• Manages schedules, short term assignments, long term goals, staff training, annual evaluations and other necessary programs / policies
• Manages purchasing activities with manufacturing, planning and engineering departments to acquire necessary inventory in a cost effective, timely manner
• Manages the evaluation of vendor reliability, makes recommendations to company regarding any opportunities for lower cost or more efficient vendor options

Experience / Qualifications

• A university degree required (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop team members
• Holds self and others accountable to achieving goals and standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
• Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
• Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
• Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
• Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
• Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
