Logistics Analyst

Serco has a great opportunity for a Logistics Analyst who has experience providing modernization support services to the U.S. Navy in Washington, DC. This position will support the Cruiser / Destroyer group in DPAE Modernization and Sustainment office and work directly with the PMS 451 DDG MOD 2.0 modernization team. You will be part of a dynamic support team that works closely with our customers and other Serco teams to provide support to the large surface combatant force.

You will serve as the Ship Modernization Logistics Analyst and materiel tracker for DDG modernization 2.0 program office and supporting Integrated Logistics Services (ILS) processes. Under the guidance of the Customer, you will monitor material procurement, production status, delivery schedules, and inventory to identify potential impacts to availability execution, and coordinate mitigation strategies to reduce schedule risk. You will develop, maintain, and analyze logistics metrics, procurement trackers, dashboards, and executive status reports using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and other business applications to support material management and decision-making.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide support to the Major Program Manager and PAPM for System Integration, being responsible for integrating and planning the government and contractor furnished material necessary for smooth DDG MOD 2.0 program execution throughout all phases of the acquisition process and CNO Availability execution.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure effective and economic support for DDG MOD 2.0 ILS execution; gather and analyze information for highly complex product plans and program objectives, provide tracking and status reports, and support distribution and delivery commitments in accordance with DoD acquisition and sustainment processes.
  • Design innovative solutions for complex, multi-faceted ILS problems, with the ability to draft instructions, plan, develop, and execute product support strategies.
  • Support planning for required materials and parts/distribution. Identifies and resolves challenging problems or issues that often cross organizational boundaries and impact on the accomplishment of program objectives.
  • Assist the customer with various programmatic duties to include, but not limited to, meeting attendance/support, develop presentations, meeting minutes, action items and tracking, and weekly reporting.
  • Analyze and provide recommendations for materiel storage solutions for materiel delivered prior to CNO Availability start date on a ship-by-ship basis.
  • Coordinate with Program Offices, Planning Yard, Naval Supply activities, shipyards, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), contractors, and Fleet stakeholders to resolve material readiness issues and improve supply chain performance.
  • Review engineering documentation, including Ship Installation Drawings (SIDs), to identify material requirements, support procurement planning, and coordinate engineering-driven material changes, including Revision Liaison Action Requests (RLARs) when required.
  • Track Government Furnished Material (GFM) throughout the procurement, shipping, receipt, and delivery process, verifying material availability and readiness in support of ship modernization schedules.
  • Support material planning in accordance with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM) milestones and other program requirements to ensure timely funding, procurement, and delivery of critical material.
  • Identify and assess logistics and supply chain risks, including long-lead material, vendor capacity, obsolescence, manufacturing constraints, and transportation challenges, and develop recommendations to improve material readiness and execution performance.
  • Support root cause analyses related to material shortages, supply chain disruptions, parts obsolescence, and logistics performance to identify corrective actions and continuous process improvements.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • An Active/Current U.S. Government - DoD Issued Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in related discipline and 6 of years of relevant experience. Educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 10 years applicable work experience and work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.
  • Experience in using databases and metrics to examine, analyze and evaluate logistics trends or process indicators and provide recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, specifically SharePoint, MS Excel, Power BI and PowerPoint.
  • Former Navy Logistics Specialist or Government Schedule (GS) employees are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to travel up to 25%

Additional desired experience and skills:

  • Prior military, civilian, or contractor experience in the DOD/Navy.
