About the role
Reporting to the Facility Manager, the Maintenance Manager will provide functional leadership and direction to the maintenance team. This position will report directly to the Facility Manager. The individual must be a proven leader who can provide vision and leadership to achieve daily, yearly and long-term asset reliability goals through application of Maintenance best practices site wide. Must possess a core value system which matches Reworld Waste's.
The individual must have a good working knowledge of maintenance, reliability, mechanical integrity, and quality assurance best practices. The position has direct reports including Mechanics, Welders, Electrical & Instrumentation Technicians, Maintenance Planner, and Storekeeper.
Position Responsibilities:
Act as a Safety Leader to ensure individual and team Safety remain top priority in the planning and execution of all tasks
Work closely with Company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) personnel targeting zero incidents and continuous improvement of site EHS performance. Safety planning must be built into every maintenance assignment
Continuous improvement in maintenance approach, encourage initiatives intended to reduce safety risk, increase productivity and efficiency, reduce maintenance cost.
Plan, develop, and implement innovative methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
Manage Maintenance Shops comprised of both Mechanical and E&I crafts with advanced skills
Manage a streamlined preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance program.
Develop a 5-year long-term maintenance plan for the site
Maintain a metric dashboard for maintenance that drives improvement and helps prioritize actions
Develop yearly and monthly maintenance budgets and the activities to ensure alignment and achievement of budgets; identifies opportunities to improve our business and provides for short and long-term actions that reduce cost
Provide overall leadership and direction for the site Work Management Program (WMP) to be cost competitive by utilizing correct application of best practices
Support a Computer Maintenance Management System and other associated tools.
Provide overall direction and vision for Outage Planning and Maintenance processes and teams that plan and coordinate the implementation shutdowns
Utilize lean strategies to Drive reliability improvements and identify gaps between the reliability goals and plant performance
Set expectations for the reliability efforts to develop solutions to repetitive failures through root cause analysis and through preventive and predictive maintenance practices
Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
Confer with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems, and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment
Position
Requirements & Qualifications:
Waste-to-Energy maintenance experience or a solid background in power, military or industrial or chemical plant maintenance including a minimum of 5 years supervisor/manager experience to be considered for this position
High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Bachelor Degree / Engineering degree preferred.Must have knowledge of maintenance budgeting and methodologies
Must manage spare parts inventory to optimum levels.
Good computer skills, able to work with ALM/Peoplesoft, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Must possess good knowledge of electrical and instrumentation including the National Electric Code and familiarity with NFPA Arc Flash safety regulations.
Proficiency in work management processes including planning & scheduling and preventative maintenance and outages
Thorough understanding of Mechanical Integrity and Quality Assurance Practices and systems
Work experience in the design, repairs, maintenance, reliability, failure modes, and/or inspection of chemical process equipment.
Familiar with reliability tools such as Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
Physical Demands of the Role:
Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
Consistently work in various weather conditions
Shift:
This position primarily works a standard day shift; however, flexibility is required, including extended hours, nights, weekends, and holidays during outages, major maintenance activities, and emergency situations to support safe and reliable plant operations.
