Operations Manager
A well-established General Contractor based in Alexandria, VA is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their growing team. This firm has built a strong reputation delivering complex healthcare and government/federal projects
, handling both ground-up construction and renovation/upgrade work across secure and highly regulated environments.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Project Manager who thrives on technically demanding projects and enjoys working in structured, high-performance settings.
The RoleAs Project Manager, you will take full ownership of projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
You will be the key point of contact for clients, consultants, and internal teams while managing multiple moving parts across compliance-heavy projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead projects from planning through completion
- Manage budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and procurement
- Oversee preconstruction activities including scope reviews and buyout
- Ensure strict compliance with federal, government, and healthcare regulations
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, and owners
- Monitor project costs, change orders, and financial reporting
- Drive project schedules and conduct regular progress meetings
- Maintain high safety and quality standards across all sites
- Manage documentation, submittals, RFIs, and closeout processes
- 5+ years’ experience as a Project Manager with a General Contractor
- Proven experience delivering healthcare and/or federal/government projects
- Experience with ground-up construction and renovation projects
- Strong understanding of compliance, documentation, and regulated project environments
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and subcontractors
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, etc.)
- Strong financial and scheduling management skills
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Experience working on secure or occupied facilities
- Knowledge of federal contracting processes
