Position OverviewJoin our team as an Accounts Payable Supervisor / Fiscal Liaison!
Lead and manage Accounts Payable operations for the IDOC, DJJ, and PRB while ensuring compliance with multiple agency fiscal policies. In this role, you’ll supervise a dedicated team, streamline processes, approve vouchers in SAP, and serve as a trusted fiscal advisor for internal staff, auditors, and contractors. - Plans, evaluates, initiates, organizes and directs the Accounts Payable activities for the Department of Corrections (IDOC), Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) and Prisoner Review Board (PRB).
- Serves as fiscal liaison for internal fiscal personnel, auditors, contractors and outside agencies providing explanation and interpretation of policies.
- Serves as full-line supervisor.
- Manages, directs, implements and monitors the accounts payable and petty cash processes.
- Monitors priority vouchers and petty cash issues that are processed for IDOC, DJJ and PRB.
- Represents the Manager in fiscal interpretation of the Center's policies in their absence.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
- Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with a major in Business Administration, Business Management, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
- Requires three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in accounting, external accounting, budget planning and control or public accounting, as well as public or business organization.
- Prefers at least five (5) years of professional experience in a Fiscal Operations capacity.
- Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience overseeing the vouchering process.
- Prefers at least three (3) years of professional experience managing auditors and contractors.
- Prefers at least four (4) years of professional experience interpreting and explaining policies and procedures to subordinate staff and outside entities.
- Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience reconciling, analyzing and preparing complex financial and fiscal-related reports.
