Position Overview

ALIVE! is a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to providing basic needs assistance, e.g., supporting families through food assistance, housing support, and community engagement. We serve our community with compassion, innovation, and accountability.

The Warehouse Operations and Logistics Manager is a senior leadership role at ALIVE! responsible for building, strengthening, and sustaining the organization's operational backbone — logistics, scheduling, inventory, fleet management, volunteer management, and procurement — while also ensuring effective, high-quality delivery of ALIVE!'s core food programs.

Reporting directly to the Assistant Executive Director, this position works side‑by‑side with and directly supervises the Operations and Logistics Director, while also overseeing the Program Director and Food Program Manager/Coordinator. This is a hands‑on operational leadership role: the ideal candidate brings existing skill — or strong readiness to build skill — in the mechanics of running a complex logistics and service‑delivery operation, not just program strategy.

The Manager will lead efforts to modernize and smooth out ALIVE!'s operational systems, standardize processes, improve staff accountability, and maintain high standards for program quality, client experience, and reliable data — with a particular emphasis on getting the operational side of the house (logistics, scheduling, inventory, fleet, volunteers, procurement) running efficiently and sustainably.

Responsibilities Operations, Logistics, Scheduling & Fleet Management (Primary Focus)
  • Work side‑by‑side with, and directly supervise, the Operations and Logistics Director to strengthen day‑to‑day warehouse operations, distribution logistics, transportation, and multi‑site coordination.
  • Build out and improve scheduling systems across programs, staff, and volunteers to ensure reliable, efficient coverage.
  • Own fleet management: vehicle maintenance, safety compliance, utilization tracking, and driver protocols.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor SOPs across operational areas to ensure consistency, efficiency, safety, and accountability.
  • Lead operational planning to support growth, scalability, and continuous improvement.
Inventory, Procurement & Supply Chain Management
  • Oversee inventory management systems, ensuring accurate tracking of food and goods sourcing, storage, movement, and distribution.
  • Strengthen procurement processes, vendor relationships, sourcing strategies, and cost controls.
  • Monitor inventory levels, forecasting, distribution patterns, and utilization rates to minimize waste and maximize available resources.
  • Develop systems that improve inventory visibility, accountability, and operational efficiency across all locations.
Volunteer Management
  • Ensure volunteers supporting operations and programs are adequately recruited, onboarded, trained, and scheduled.
  • Coordinate closely with volunteer management staff to align volunteer engagement with operational needs.
Food Program Leadership & Strategy
  • Provide strategic and hands‑on oversight of ALIVE! food programs, distribution systems, and warehouse‑supported services.
  • Ensure programs align with community needs, organizational priorities, and best practices in food access, food handling/safety, and cultural relevance.
  • Partner with the Assistant Executive Director on innovation, strategic planning, and long‑term program development.
Data Fidelity, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
  • Establish clear protocols for data entry, validation, auditing, and reporting across logistics, inventory, volunteering, and program outcomes.
  • Define and monitor KPIs related to operational performance, inventory management, fleet utilization, volunteer experience, and service delivery.
  • Conduct regular data audits and operational reviews to strengthen performance.
Team Leadership, Performance Management & Accountability
  • Directly supervise the Operations and Logistics Director, Program Director, and Food Program Manager, providing coaching, guidance, and performance management.
  • Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and measurable outcomes across supervised teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability,…
