B Shift (Monday-Friday: 6:30P-6:30A, Thursday 6:30P-12:30A) POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for producing aluminum extruded shapes that meet customer specifications: operating saws, moving material, operating an extrusion press, packing material, moving dies, participating in 5S initiatives, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe following description of work to be performed by this individual is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.
- Ensure that safety is always the number one priority at Alexandria Industries; promote and support a safe work environment and safety-oriented culture by following all safety programs and guidelines
- Ensure all business system transactions (production, inventory, etc.) are accurate and timely
- Set up and run equipment safely and efficiently in order to maximize output while meeting customer quality requirements
- Support the company’s key corporate values, objectives and strategies
- Cross-train in as many functions in the department as possible
- Understand and verify manufacturing orders in order to identify internal and customer specifications
- Conduct all processes and procedures in accordance with department key measures
- Ensure all quality practices are being followed accurately and efficiently
- Keep work area clean and orderly using 5S system (standardize, sustain, sort, set in order and shine)
- Meet delivery schedules to ensure customer service and satisfaction
OTHER JOB DUTIES (Not considered essential to the job)
- Perform all other related assignments (including special projects) as required in a professional and cooperative manner.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent degree
- Experience:
- 3+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
- Other required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic computer skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to recognize safety concerns
- Ability to utilize the proper inspection equipment per designated area
- A highly motivated self-starter
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read die drawings and inspect parts and surface finish according to customer specifications
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment
- Ability to take part in additional training e. Extrusion 101
- Ability to perform and assist with preventive maintenance
- Strong communication skills, problem solver, multi-tasker
- Ability to properly identify materials
