EHS Lead - Food Industry

Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, training materials, and performance metrics to support a safe and compliant food production environment

Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across production, warehouse, maintenance, refrigeration, and chemical handling areas, while driving corrective actions to closure

Lead incident investigations, near-miss reviews, root cause analyses, and injury recordkeeping to prevent future occurrences and improve workplace safety

Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, fire code, and other regulatory requirements by maintaining accurate records, permits, reports, and audit-ready documentation

Deliver and support safety training programs covering PPE, hazard communication, LOTO, machine guarding, forklift safety, chemical handling, ergonomics, emergency response, and safe work practices

Partner with cross-functional teams to strengthen safety culture, support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives, and enhance emergency preparedness and response programs

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Food Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience2-4 years of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) experience, ideally within food manufacturing, processing, warehousing, cold storage, or industrial operations

Solid understanding of OSHA, EPA, and relevant state and local safety and environmental regulations

Proven experience conducting safety audits, incident investigations, risk assessments, corrective action management, and employee safety training

Knowledge of workplace hazards in food production environments, including machinery, chemicals, forklifts, refrigerated areas, repetitive motion risks, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
