Job Summary
An Accounting Department support position responsible for performing recurring cyclical financial functions to include: assist the Controller and/or the supervisory Accountant with the preparation of audit work papers, maintain computer spreadsheets and reports, perform manual and computerized data entry, perform data verification functions, filing, photocopying, provide telephone/receptionist support as well as other related Accounting and Administrative duties.
Duties/Responsibilities- Recruit and maintain a positive relationship with new and existing churches.
- Recruit an appropriate and sufficient number of volunteers to staff requests of care receivers.
- Assure that all volunteers are interviewed and screened to comply with program procedures and agency policies and provide orientation.
- Develop a continuing education program for volunteers.
- Develop strong working relationships with key contacts by meeting regularly for communication, assessment and support and to assure that volunteer needs are met.
- Conduct in-home assessments on potentially new care receivers, write and implement a Service Plan. Re-assessments should be done yearly.
- Assign and monitor duties provided by FIA Assistant.
- Demonstrate community leadership by representing the organization at community functions and through involvement in professional volunteer groups and organizations.
- Assist Administration with securing funding for FIA program.
- Hold quarterly Key Contact meetings.
- Organize volunteer recognition program.
- Conduct annual client and volunteer surveys.
- Prepare statistical reports and documentation as required. Maintain and update program manual as needed.
- Maintain files according to Agency and COA standards.
- Attend necessary training to maintain and implement current knowledge of senior issues.
- Coordinate, recruit volunteers and clients and market Faith in Action and A Matter of Balance.
- Conduct Matter of Balance and Bingocize classes.
- Maintain data entry of all clients to ECIAAA database.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Associate degree in Accounting (preferred) or equivalent accounting/bookkeeping experience, substitutable on a two-year for one-year formal education basis.
- Demonstrated conversancy and competency with accounting and windows-based software, preference given for experience with MIPS and the Microsoft Office Suite of Applications, specifically to include Excel, Word and Access.
- Demonstrate an ability to work efficiently, accurately and accomplish designated tasks with a minimum of supervision.
