Registered Nurse Behavioral Health

Inova Mt. Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse to join the Behavioral Health team. This role will be full‑time day shift 7:00 am – 7:00 pm with a rotating weekend. Sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance available for external candidates who qualify.

• Communicate effectively with patients, families, team members, and medical providers.
• Create a collaborative team‐working environment while displaying respect for and an understanding of various clinical disciplines.
• Use a focused and integrated approach toward improving patient outcomes and patient experience of care delivery.
• Participate in learning new knowledge, developing new skills, and meeting program objectives to practice in assigned patient care delivery settings.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn under the direct supervision of an experienced RN and through various training formats.

• Minimum of 1 year of Registered Nurse clinical experience.
• Education:
  
  BSN or ADN – if ADN, complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider Certification from the American Heart Association required.
• RN license, and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others.
• Proficient computer skills required.

• Inpatient psychiatric experience preferred.
