Job DutiesThis unit-based position supervises nursing staff on one of four treatment units. Responsibilities include participating in treatment team meetings, therapeutic program activities, and ensuring delivery of patient care according to the individual treatment plans. The position acts as the point of leadership for a team of health care professionals by guiding, coaching, and evaluating staff. It also utilizes the nursing process with knowledge of pharmacology, psychiatric disorders, and the physical, psychological, and social needs of the psychiatric patient.
Skills in delegating nursing activities, supervising, and counseling nursing employees are required. Competency is demonstrated as defined on Competency Assessment.
- Basic Computer Knowledge
- Virginia State Board of Registered Nursing License
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing
- Med-surg nursing experience
- Previous supervisory experience
- Long Term Care and Nursing Home Experience
- Experience working with Electronic Health Records
