Job DescriptionInova Alexandria Hospital is looking for an RN Clinical Educator to work with the Adult Inpatient departments supporting the Medical Oncology, Progressive Care, Medical and Surgical Units.

Job Responsibilities
- Utilize system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals.
- Integrate theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members.
- Prepare annual self-development plans, set professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them.
- Contribute to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.
Hours:
Full-time, Monday‑Friday (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs)
- Education: Master’s Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master’s program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master’s program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following:
- Provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date.
- Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre‑requisites and timeline for taking the courses.
- Complete Masters within 3 years of start date.
- Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor.
- Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi‑state RN License.
