Surgical Assistant, Operating Room Nurse
RN PACU
This position requires an RN to work in the PACU setting. Float to Pre Op, ECT, and GI Endoscopy as needed. Coverage will include Pre Op, Phase 1, and Phase 2 depending on patient needs. Nurses will care for inpatient and outpatient surgical patients across multiple specialties. The unit has 13 bays (10 Phase 1, 3 Phase
2). Common cases include total joint arthroplasty, spine, orthopedic sports medicine, general surgery, vascular, plastic surgeries, urology, ENT, ECT, and GI endoscopy. Ratios are 2:1 for Phase 1 and 3:1 for Phase 2. The position requires participation in a rotating on-call commitment. Weekend and holiday shifts may be necessary under the on-call rotation. Scrubs will vary based on assignment, with OR attire provided on campus.
A fast-paced environment with a strong focus on teamwork is essential. Candidates must be comfortable with rotating assignments and variable hours. This position provides an opportunity to work in a supportive and collaborative healthcare environment.
