License:
Active RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or active multistate compact (NLC) license.
Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS required.
Must-Have:
Candidates must be comfortable with variable start times, including early starts.
Description:
The role involves providing care to surgical patients in the recovery phase post-anesthesia. Nurses will float to Pre Operative, Post-Anesthesia, and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy areas as required. Candidates must be comfortable with on-call expectations, including weekday and weekend shifts. There is a commitment to rotate on call every 6 weeks, covering both weekdays and holidays. The unit houses 13 bays and has a patient ratio of 2:1 in Phase 1 and 3:1 in Phase
2. Common cases include total joint arthroplasty, spinal surgeries, orthopedic sports medicine, and general surgery. The working environment is fast-paced and emphasizes strong teamwork.
