Job Description

Inova Alexandria Hospital is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN to join our team.

Eligible Nurses will qualify for sign on & relocation bonuses.

Full time, Night shift (40hrs per week) with call. We are offering the following shift options:
Four/10hr shifts per week (9pm - 7:30am) OR Two/8hr (11pm - 7:30am) & Two/12hr (7pm - 7:30am) shifts per week.

Our OR is equipped with 11 OR suites and 4 Endoscopy Suites, providing a comprehensive range of surgical specialties.

• Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationships.
• Formulates individualized plans of care based upon assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice.
• Supports and empowers patients and families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisions.
• Advocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective and provides counsel and acts as a resource to resolve issues.
• Anticipates ethical, spiritual, and cultural needs of patients/families and assists staff in assessing patients' learning needs.

• Experience:
  
  Requires a minimum of 1 year of direct Operating Room (OR) experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Education:
  
  BSN or ADN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate’s Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
• License:
  Must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse.
• Certification:
  Basic Life Support with American Heart Association.

• Experience with the following cases:
  Ortho, Neuro/Spine, Robotics & Trauma
• Circulating and scrubbing experience
• AORN's Periop 101 curriculum completion and/or CNOR
