The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) registered nurse position is located in Alexandria, Virginia. This role involves providing high-quality post-anesthesia care for inpatient and outpatient surgical patients across multiple specialties. The PACU nurse will work in a fast-paced environment supporting various patient needs with a focus on teamwork and patient safety.

• Schedule:
  
  Full-time, 40 hours per week, with shift hours typically around 8 hours. Candidates should be comfortable with variable start times, including early mornings, and may need to work on-call shifts.
• Required Qualifications:
  
  Valid RN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or a multistate compact license, minimum of 2 years PACU RN experience, current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (AHA), experience with Epic electronic medical record system preferred, strong perianesthesia background, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  
  Pediatric care experience is helpful but not required. Experience with fast-paced surgical environments is advantageous.
• Float:
  First to float between Preoperative, ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy), and GI Endoscopy units, with no intraoperative Endoscopy or ECT assignment expected.
• Additional Information:
  The assignment duration is 10 weeks. The role involves working in a 13-bay PACU with patient ratios of 2:1 in Phase 1 and 3:1 in Phase
  2. Candidates will care for both inpatient and outpatient surgical patients, including those aged 10 and above, with a focus on various surgical specialties such as joint replacements, spine, orthopedics, and general surgery.
