American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Neuro ICU position requiring 2 years of critical care experience and active BLS/ACLS certifications.

• 16-bed Neuro ICU with a 1:2 patient ratio
• Patient population includes stroke, ICH, SAH, SDH, brain tumors, and increased ICP cases
• Also treats acute respiratory failure, sepsis, ARDS, COPD/asthma exacerbation, AKI, DKA, HHS, GI bleeding, and severe electrolyte abnormalities
• Manages titratable and set-rate drips including Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Vasopressin, Phenylephrine, and Dopamine
• Unit supported by two clinical techs for 16 patients
• Uses mechanical ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and noninvasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP)
• RNs responsible for reading their own telemetry strips (Phillips monitors) as no tele/monitor techs are on the unit
• Night shift schedule from 7pm-7am
• Every other weekend required
• Float expectations include MSICU, PCCU, and other units as needed
• Epic EMR experience required

• Active VA or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience required
• Cardiac experience not required
• Must pass ECG exam on day 2 of assignment (pass/fail)

• Provide critical care nursing to a complex neuro ICU patient population
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Holiday coverage includes 1 major holiday (Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day, or Thanksgiving/day after) and 1 minor holiday (Labor Day, 4th of July, or Memorial Day)
• Former permanent employees may return 12 months after their last worked shift
