Job Summary
Responsible for the supervision of the receiving department. Ensures the receipt and disposition of merchandise and inventory in the club, including processing paperwork, verifying merchandise, comparing receipts against purchase orders, and checking for damaged products or concealed shortages. Makes sure policies and procedures are followed within the department.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain operations of the receiving department, matching received inventory against purchase orders and reviewing discrepancies.
- Process inbound and outbound shipments; ensure product pricing and signage are displayed.
- Ensure radio frequency (RF) guns are used when receiving merchandise.
- Complete all receiving paperwork accurately and ensure complete documentation.
- Separate pallets and verify correct selling or non-selling location.
- Supervise receivers and/or receiving clerks and mentor team members in inventory control.
- Communicate with logistics and coordinate delivery schedules.
- Complete department self‑audit with detail and accuracy.
- Secure receiving doors, check in visitors and vendors, and inspect bags, backpacks, briefcases, and lunch boxes leaving the building.
- Assign truck door locations and ensure drivers are outside trucks while unloading; secure docks and maintain alarms.
- Verify seal integrity of all trucks, including distribution center loads and frozen/dairy shipments.
- Monitor distribution center loads to ensure high‑shrink merchandise is properly secured and remove high‑shrink merchandise from the dock at the end of the day.
- Confirm incoming and outgoing Direct Store Delivery (DSD) quantities and process them correctly.
- Execute merchandise protection on designated items and validate paperwork and approvals for merchandise leaving back doors.
- Operate the compactor and cardboard baler and secure equipment when not in use.
- Maintain all club policies and procedures and perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
- Acquire deep knowledge of key metrics and reporting for total club and department performance.
- Drive performance and profitability using reporting to identify trends and areas of opportunity.
- Use foresight to spot breakdown in process and correct it before it negatively impacts club performance metrics.
- Communicate a simple message to the team on the connection between consistent operational performance and achieving club financial targets.
- Set and uphold Gold Member Standards: greet, anticipate, appreciate (GAA); deliver fast, friendly, full, fresh, clean club standards.
- Define and model Gold‑Grand opening look daily; maintain visible accurate signage; keep the club clean and organized inside and out.

Forklift operator required. Supervisory experience preferred. Prior experience in a big‑box receiving environment preferred. Computer skills preferred. Must be at least 18 years old.
Physical RequirementsMajority of the time spent moving on hard surfaces, frequently bending, climbing, crawling, handling, pulling, reaching, and stooping. Continuously lifting objects up to 30 pounds, with possible lifting of heavier objects with assistance. Exposure to loud machinery and cleaning agents may occur.
PayIn accordance with Pay Transparency requirements, the compensation range for this position starts at $19.00. Actual salaries vary based on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
