Job DescriptionAs a Security Officer – Armed Government Patrols Full-Time in Alexandria, VA
, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Patrol Armed Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas to help deter security-related incidents and maintain a secure environment. You will remain highly visible while providing exceptional customer service and communication. - Provide customer service to clients by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and responding to emergencies when appropriate.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols around the location and its perimeter, helping to deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor for suspicious activity and report any security-related concerns to the appropriate authorities or Allied Universal management.
- Assist with access control by verifying credentials and managing entry points as required by site protocols.
- Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations while on duty.
- Support emergency response efforts as needed, following established protocols and procedures for government locations.
- An armed guard card or license is required.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- CPR and/or first aid certification is preferred.
- Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
