Security Specialist

US Department of Defense -  - Responsibilities:
Directs the workflow of the Personnel Security Appeals Board, reviewing and evaluating highly complex personnel security investigations and related materials to determine eligibility for national security sensitive positions.;
Serves as a security authority, interpreting and applying current security regulations to coordinate adjudication with internal stakeholders, other government agencies, and private organizations while protecting adjudicative files.;
Collaborates with leadership to develop and refine security policy, evaluating program effectiveness and devising new methods to solve operational problems.;
Leads strategic automation and business planning initiatives, managing the design and implementation of manual and automated record-keeping systems (including case file digitization), using tools like Power BI and GenAI to track performance and identify trends.;
Develops and delivers executive correspondence and oral presentations to secure cooperation and present data-driven security program options to leadership and interagency customers.
