Site Lead – Armed Security Officer

Overview

The Site Lead will be responsible for overall success of the security program for their assigned installation. The Site Lead oversees all aspects of Guard Services including administrative functions, conduct, performance, appearance, training, and scheduling of all assigned personnel. The Site Lead inspects employees to ensure they are fit for duty, meet dress and appearance standards, and possess all required weapons, ammunition, equipment, and credentials.

The Site Lead also interacts and coordinates all activities, complaints, incidents, and deviations of established procedures with the Director of Security Services, Union Representatives (if applicable), and the local Government Security representative.

Applicants selected will be subject to a background/security investigation and must be drug free and remain drug free during the period of employment. This position reports directly to the Director of Security Services, Tatitlek Federal Services, Inc.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Daily management of all clerical/administrative support functions.
  • Monitor performance, timecards, leave and training needs.
  • Manage and supervise assigned personnel:
    • Make recommendations regarding hiring, evaluating, counseling employees, including recommending termination.
    • Professional development and mentoring of subordinates to maximize workforce efficiency.
    • Determine whether to intervene directly or ask for assistance as time permits, keep situations under control or surveillance, and report the incident or situation to the appropriate authority.
    • Prepare, maintain, and disseminate duty rosters and schedules for the workforce.
    • Track state Security Licensure status for all assigned employees:
      • Ensure employees have all required licensure, certifications, and qualifications prior to performing duties.
      • Ensure employees complete required training to maintain state Security Licensure.
  • Responsible for all assigned property:
    • Vehicle fleet:
      Ensure proper records, maintenance, and inspections for all assigned vehicles.
    • Report any issue or damage to the Director of Security Services.
    • Weapons and equipment:
      Maintain proper records, control, and serviceability.
  • Conduct and document quality control audits/inspections of all shifts and employees, reporting deficiencies to the Director of Security Services.
  • May be required to hold any company security licensure required to perform security operations.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • May require occasional travel.
REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge and ability to perform all required guard services duties.
Experience
  • Experience in security or law enforcement operations in the Armed Forces, military police, or civilian security operations, including supervisory or leadership experience.
  • At least three (3) years of daily management of clerical/administrative support.
Requirements
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
  • No felony convictions and no convictions under the Lautenberg Act.
  • Must be 21 years of age to be armed.
  • United States citizen.
  • Valid state driver's license (all positions may require use of a motor vehicle).
  • No record or history of illegal drug use, sale, possession, or manufacture during the previous five years. Drug testing and screening may be conducted prior to hiring.
  • Annual drug testing may be conducted.
  • Possess any/all required state security guard licenses or permits.
  • Obtain and maintain government approval.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to accept and respond to new emergent and unique project task requirements.
  • Ability to present ideas clearly and succinctly both in writing and verbally to co‑workers, team members, internal department groups, and personnel, as well as outside entities.
