Regular travel between multiple locations throughout the DC and Northern Virginia region
CW Resources is seeking a Deputy Facility Security Officer (DFSO) to support and administer federal security programs while ensuring strict compliance with government regulations. This role is critical in guiding employees, primarily individuals with disabilities, through the full lifecycle of the security clearance process.
The Deputy FSO will partner closely with the Facility Security Officer, provide hands-on employee support, deliver training, and maintain security program integrity across multiple locations. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex situations with professionalism and empathy.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Security Clearance Administration
• Guide new and current employees through the full lifecycle of the security clearance process.
• Conduct security clearance pre-screening interviews.
• Provide ongoing support to approximately 20-30 employees concurrently while managing competing priorities.
• Assist employees in coordinating required appointments and gathering necessary documentation.
• Provide ongoing guidance and education related to clearance processes and security requirements.
• Monitor employee participation in the Continuing Evaluation and eligibility programs.
Security Program Management
• Administer and uphold government and company security policies and procedures.
• Support compliance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and applicable national security standards.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation within federal security systems, including: ◦ National Industrial Security System (NISS) ◦ Defense Information System for Security (DISS) ◦ National Background Investigation Services (NBIS)
• Maintain oversight of Key Management Personnel (KMP) and Board-related security changes.
• Ensure strong visibility, accountability, and compliance across all cleared facilities.
• Analyze complex personnel security situations and recommend appropriate solutions.
Compliance, Training & Employee Support
• Conduct employee security briefings, awareness programs, and required training.
• Communicate security requirements clearly and effectively to employees at all organizational levels.
• Support government audits, inspections, assessments, and compliance reviews.
• Maintain the integrity of security programs while promoting a culture of security awareness.
• Uphold CW's mission, values, and standards of professionalism in all interactions.
What You'll Need to Be Successful

Required Qualifications
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance (required).
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility security, industrial security, or related security programs.
• Demonstrated experience using NISS, DISS, and NBIS.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly between sites.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
Bonus If You Have These Skills
• Knowledge of NISPOM, Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs), and national security requirements.
• Associate degree or higher in Security Management, Criminal Justice, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Experience supporting a diverse and disability-inclusive workforce.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data entry.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Comfortable engaging with individuals of diverse backgrounds, including those with varying disabling conditions.
