Aquatic Camp Counselor

Requirements- High School Diploma and three (3) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- First Aid training.
- Ability to work long periods of standing, bending, walking, lifting, carrying items and walking up and down steps.
- Availability to work from June 1 to August 8, Monday through Friday (8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.).
- Willingness to work varied schedules, including short notice, evenings, weekends or holidays.
- Plan, implement and facilitate recreation aquatic‑based activities, programs and arts and crafts to ensure a variety of activities are available in the summer camp.
- Ensure pool rules are implemented and followed.
- Follow Recreation Services Workplace Expectations.
- Ensure all safety precautions and guidelines are followed for all programs and activities.
- Ensure program participants are properly supervised at all times.
- Create a positive, nurturing, inclusive and safe program environment.
- Prepare for recreational activities at one or more sites on a particular date: open site, set‑up equipment and program materials, ensure rules and regulations are followed, maintain order, store equipment and materials at the end of activities, and secure the site.
- Complete reports, documentation, and other paperwork as assigned in compliance with the Department’s policies and procedures.
- Communicate professionally (written and verbally) with customers.
- Participate in staff meetings, in‑service training sessions, and workshops.
- Perform related work as required.
