Outreach Coordinator
The Outreach Coordinator will play a key role in strengthening our organization's collaborations with other youth-serving organizations in Fairfax County, Virginia. This person will work closely with members of Fairfax County Youth MOVE (FCYM) to develop and implement trainings and events by young people for young people in Fairfax County. Additional tasks will be to build community partnerships, identify project sites, and ensure consistent representation at key community meetings.
This position will report to the Director of Behavioral Health Support Services.
Fairfax County Youth MOVE (FCYM), a chapter of Youth MOVE National, is a youth-led program. Founded in 2021 as the Healthy Minds Fairfax Youth Advisory Council, Fairfax County Youth MOVE
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Fairfax County Youth MOVE (FCYM) members leading initiatives to connect with more community organizations through regular meetings
- Identify and contact potential sites for projects
- Attend events planned in collaboration with FCYM members
- Attend Sunday meetings, coordinating with Youth Development Coordinator to ensure one representative is present at each meeting
- Attend Trauma Informed Care Network meetings (held the first Tuesday, every other month)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to plan and execute projects
- A collaborative approach to working with others
- Creative and flexible thinking
- Strong problem-solving skills
- An interest in supporting teens and young adults from a wide variety of backgrounds in developing skills and doing advocacy work
- Residency in Northern Virginia
- Bilingual (Spanish speaking)
- Lived experience navigating social services or mental health systems
- Hybrid work arrangement
- Available at least 1-2 evenings per week
- Available 1-2 Sundays per month
- Bi-monthly TICN meetings (first Tuesday of alternating months)
Salary: $22.14/hour
