Digital Marketing, Content Writer / Copywriter
We’re looking for a new team member who loves stories. Not just the ones found in books, but the ones that happen every day at the library. As part of our Marketing team, you'll help tell those stories by promoting literacy, programs, services, and community connections across a variety of platforms. We're looking for someone who is social media savvy, creative, outgoing, and not afraid to be the main character in a video, photo, or community event when the story calls for it.
Qualifications & Skills:
Technical & Software Skills Knowledge of digital cameras and camera settings; strong knowledge and proficiency with:
Google Workspace / Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Cap Cut; experience with Constant Contact and/or other email marketing platforms preferred; willingness and ability to learn new software and technologies
Social Media Knowledge Strong understanding of social media platforms including:
Facebook, Instagram, X, You Tube and Tik Tok, with a strong focus on social media content; experience creating and scheduling social media content; familiarity with social media management tools such as Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite, or Buffer; understanding of analytics, engagement tracking, hashtags, and current social media trends; ability to engage with the public professionally online
Content Creation & Media Skills Photography and composition knowledge; basic lighting and event photography skills; ability to create vertical video content for Tik Tok, Instagram Reels, and You Tube Shorts; basic video editing knowledge using software such as Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve; understanding of branding consistency, typography, and accessible design
Writing & Communication Skills Strong writing, proofreading, and communication skills; ability to adapt writing style for different audiences and platforms; experience writing social media captions, newsletter content, press releases, website updates, flyers, and promotion materials; strong organizational and multitasking abilities; comfortable interacting with the public during programs and events
Website & Digital Skills Basic website editing experience preferred; familiarity with content management systems such as Word Press; understanding of digital accessibility standards including the use of alt tags and accessible digital content practices; basic knowledge of SEO and online search visibility; experience organizing digital files and cloud based storage systems
AI & Emerging Technology Knowledge and use of AI tools including:
OpenAI, Seedance, Grok, and Gemini; understanding of ethical AI usage and fact checking; ability to use AI tools for brainstorming, writing assistance, image generation, and workflow support; familiarity with emerging AI platforms and tools is a plus
Education Associate's or Bachelor’s degree (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
