Position Details

Start Date: August 2026 for the 26/27 school year
Hours: Full‑time (7.5 hours/day)
Grade Levels: PreK‑12th grade
Certifications: IL PEL with School Psychologist endorsement required – Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
Compensation: Starting at $53/hour (commensurate with experience)
Location: Algonquin, IL – Onsite Only

Position Overview

We are currently seeking a School Psychologist to join our dynamic team at E‑Therapy. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing comprehensive psychological services to students, collaborating with school teams to support academic achievement, social‑emotional development, and positive behavior.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct psycho educational assessments and evaluations to identify students’ academic, cognitive, social‑emotional, and behavioral strengths and needs.
  • Interpret assessment results and communicate findings clearly and understandably to students, families, teachers, and school staff.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), behavior intervention plans (BIPs), and academic interventions based on assessment data and students’ educational needs.
  • Provide counseling and psychotherapy services to students individually and in group settings to address social‑emotional concerns, behavioral challenges, and mental health issues impacting learning and well‑being.
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and school staff to provide strategies and interventions to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development in the classroom and school environment.
  • Conduct crisis intervention and support students and families in crisis or emergency situations, collaborating with school administrators and community resources as needed.
  • Participate in school‑wide initiatives and professional development activities related to school climate, positive behavior supports, social‑emotional learning, and mental health promotion.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of psychological assessments, counseling sessions, consultation meetings, and other relevant documentation.
Qualifications
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure or certification as a School Psychologist.
  • Previous experience working as a School Psychologist in a school or educational setting (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of psychological assessment measures, testing procedures, and diagnostic criteria.
  • Excellent understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices related to the provision of psychological services in schools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, school staff, and related service providers.
  • Proficiency in assessment, counseling, and intervention techniques.

Physical Requirements (Working in a School Setting)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and move around in various areas of the school facility. The employee must be able to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents both verbally and in writing. The employee may need to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds and may occasionally be required to bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
