Special Education Teacher

Special Education Teacher (LBS1) for a 39-week contract in Algonquin, Illinois. Responsible for delivering individualized instruction, supporting IEP goals, collaborating with staff and families, and maintaining a safe classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach special education instruction aligned to student IEPs, providing appropriate accommodations, modifications, and supports to meet individualized learning needs.
Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons and evidence-based interventions using data-informed decision-making to support progress.
Collaborate with related services staff, general education teachers, administrators, and families to ensure consistent implementation of IEP goals and strategies.
Monitor student progress, track outcomes, and document performance to support IEP meetings and required reporting.
Maintain a safe, structured classroom environment and uphold school/district policies, including compliance with onboarding and facility requirements.

Qualifications:

Special education teaching certification or equivalent state-approved credentials.
Valid Illinois special education teaching license or equivalent state certification.
Minimum 1 year of experience working with students with disabilities in a school or educational setting.
Experience implementing IEPs and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Ability to work a standard school day schedule and meet lesson planning and student progress monitoring expectations.
Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff, and a patient, supportive, student-centered approach.
