Special Education Teacher
Special Education Teacher (LBS1) for a 39-week contract in Algonquin, Illinois. Responsible for delivering individualized instruction, supporting IEP goals, collaborating with staff and families, and maintaining a safe classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Teach special education instruction aligned to student IEPs, providing appropriate accommodations, modifications, and supports to meet individualized learning needs.
- Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons and evidence-based interventions using data-informed decision-making to support progress.
- Collaborate with related services staff, general education teachers, administrators, and families to ensure consistent implementation of IEP goals and strategies.
- Monitor student progress, track outcomes, and document performance to support IEP meetings and required reporting.
- Maintain a safe, structured classroom environment and uphold school/district policies, including compliance with onboarding and facility requirements.
- Special education teaching certification or equivalent state-approved credentials.
- Valid Illinois special education teaching license or equivalent state certification.
- Minimum 1 year of experience working with students with disabilities in a school or educational setting.
- Experience implementing IEPs and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Ability to work a standard school day schedule and meet lesson planning and student progress monitoring expectations.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and staff, and a patient, supportive, student-centered approach.
