Position: Inclusivity Coach (1.0 FTE) - 26/27 SY

Job Description

Inclusivity coaching addresses systemic disparities throughout the district by empowering teachers to unleash the unlimited potential of all students. To accomplish this, an Inclusivity Coach must embrace all forms of diversity and demonstrate a solid commitment to articulate and support a common understanding of equity and its impact on student achievement. The Inclusivity Coach will apply an equity lens to advance student academic and behavioral success, increase or enhance student opportunities to resources to ensure success, and support teachers in their understanding of how to best support diverse community members.

Performance Responsibilities
  • Pick up district issued computer in August 2026.
  • Attend Induction Academy I for teachers new to D300:
    August 2026.
  • Develop and facilitate professional learning for staff related to equity, cultural competency, and support for students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Coach, support, and empower Professional Learning Communities towards determining where curriculum and practices are equitable and how to enhance these structures.
  • Collaborate with building-level administration to assess and develop administrative professional learning when and where appropriate.
  • Coach, support, and empower Professional Learning Communities in the disaggregation of data, the analysis of data, and the development of lesson plans that address inequitable practices related to data.
  • Coach, support, and empower staff in developing student-led committees that elicit student voices from various cultural groups on areas of the building that may be inequitable or need improvement.
  • Develop and facilitate professional learning for staff related to the importance of family community engagement and address the needs of a diverse parent population.
  • Conduct one‑on‑one coaching for teachers that are interested in having more in‑depth support.
  • Consult frequently with classroom teachers on matters relating to creating an inclusive classroom.
  • Analyze the building‑wide mission and vision statement to ensure it addresses the needs of all students.
  • Model research‑based best practices and team‑teach as appropriate to support individuals or groups of students in learning or transferring effective strategies.
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information.
  • Facilitate conversations with students centered on equity issues individually and in group settings.
  • Facilitate conversations with families centered on equity issues.
  • Other tasks as assigned that further the efforts towards equity and student achievement.
Qualification
  • Bachelor Degree (required) or Master’s Degree (preferred)
  • A valid Illinois Professional Educator License and a minimum of three years K‑12 teaching experience.
  • Trained on restorative practices and CPI.
  • Evidence of implementing culturally responsive instruction with supporting student achievement data.
  • Evidence of developing and facilitating professional learning that advances equity initiatives and programs.
  • Evidence of working in a diverse community or with a diverse population of students.
  • Evidence of serving as a member of a team or school community.
  • Evidence of knowledge in instructional pedagogy concerning support for students and adults.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Skill in collecting, interpreting, and communicating data to a variety of audiences.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong communication skills (oral and written).
