The Homebound Tutoring program provides continuation of learning for students whose classroom activities have been disrupted due to physical or medical problems. Homebound tutoring services are provided to a student when a licensed medical physician determines that the student will be out of school for a minimum of two consecutive weeks due to a medical condition. Homebound tutoring services provide instructional learning at home in place of at school by an Illinois-certified licensed teacher.
The goal of Homebound Tutoring is to afford the student experiences equivalent to those afforded at school to other students at the same grade level and to prepare the student to return to the classroom upon recovery.
