We are looking for a compassionate and creative Activities Assistant to support our senior citizen residents in our community. In this role you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and leading meaningful activities that are appropriate to the needs and interests of residents and are conducive to their physical, mental and social well‑being. You will also be providing transportation so our residents can remain connected to services and resources in the neighborhood and participate in engaging outings to local places.
DailyResponsibilities
- Support resident wellness by planning and leading engaging activity programs to meet the needs of our resident population, including seniors in need of physical assistance and seniors in varying stages of memory loss.
- Lead daily resident activities to support resident engagement and mental health, per our Community standards.
- Drive our small bus to and from church services, shopping, or other resident errands.
- Take dogs belonging to residents for walks around the outside of the community, and dispose of any pet waste.
- Assist with preparing and distributing monthly event calendars for residents and staff to raise awareness of activities in the community and promote communication.
- Partner with leadership and other staff to address resident needs.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Associate’s degree preferred.
- Six months’ experience working with seniors in activities or life enrichment preferred.
- Memory Care experience is preferred.
Pay Range: $15.00/hr - $17.00 per hour, depending on experience.
