Job Description & How to Apply Below

Looking for a pediatric OT position that feels sustainable, flexible, and genuinely enjoyable?

At Play n’ Grow Therapy, we’re a small, relationship-based practice that values supporting both our clients and our therapists. We believe great therapy happens when therapists feel trusted, supported, and have the freedom to be themselves.

We’re also a growing practice, and that growth really matters here. As we expand, there are real opportunities for long-term development within the clinic—including leadership roles, helping shape new programs, and stepping into higher-level positions over time for therapists who are interested in growing with us.

We’re looking for a pediatric occupational therapist to join our team.

This position is a great fit for therapists looking for a smaller caseload such as working parents, school-based clinicians looking to supplement a couple hours in the evenings, or OTs looking to supplement an existing position on a weekend. This position is also a great fit for a clinician who wants to grow with us long term, and enjoys the idea of being a part of our clinic atmosphere with so much potential for growth and leadership!

Whether you’re looking for just a few clients per week or hoping to build a fuller schedule or step into leadership roles, we’re happy to work with you to create something that fits your life.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Providing play-based occupational therapy services in our clinic
  • Occasionally providing teletherapy services when appropriate
  • Providing home or community-based sessions when needed (mileage and transition time are reimbursed)
  • Completing evaluations, reports, and individualized treatment plans
  • Collaborating closely with families and caregivers throughout the therapy process
  • Completing daily documentation, progress notes, and plans of care (we provide templates and a user-friendly EMR to make this as painless as possible)
  • Participating in occasional co-treatments with a speech therapist or social worker

Most of the children we work with need support with regulation, sensory processing, emotional development, social-emotional skills, and everyday functional skills. We use a child-led, relationship-based approach and focus on helping kids feel safe, connected, and successful.

Schedule

One of the biggest perks of this role is flexibility. Want to see just a few clients a week? That’s okay. Looking for a fuller caseload? We’d love that too.

You can provide as little as 4 client sessions per week on the day(s) of your choosing, or give us broader availability and we’ll build a schedule that works for you.

Compensation

Compensation is competitive and will be discussed during the interview process. Pay is based on experience, training, and the overall responsibilities of the role.

We believe in recognizing growth and contributions to the practice. There are opportunities for raises, promotions, and additional paid opportunities throughout the year, including:

  • Presentations and trainings
  • Workshops and community events
  • Social groups
  • Special projects and program development
  • Other occasional opportunities that align with your interests and strengths

We value long-term growth and are committed to supporting team members as they develop their skills, interests, and career goals within the practice.

What We Value
  • Child-led, play-based therapy
  • Family-centered care
  • Strengths-based approaches
  • Collaboration and teamwork
  • Creating a supportive environment for both families and therapists
This Might Be a Great Fit If You…
  • Love working with kids and building relationships with families
  • Appreciate flexibility and work-life balance
  • Enjoy having autonomy while still having support available when you need it
  • Like collaborating with other professionals and participating in co-treatments
  • Prefer a smaller clinic environment over a high-volume setting
  • Want to work somewhere where you’ll actually know your coworkers and the families you serve
  • Has a desire to learn, grow, and continuously develop their clinical skills alongside a small team of compassionate and dedicated professions
What we are looking for:
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in Illinois
  • Pediatric experience preferred, although we are open to anyone motivated to learn, grow, and continue developing their skills
  • Experience with, or interest in developing skills in sensory integration, DIR Floortime, feeding therapy, and self‑regulation approaches
How to Apply

If this sounds like a good fit, we’d love to hear from you. Send your resume and/or a brief introduction about yourself to

We’ll reach out to schedule a casual 30-minute virtual interview so we can get to know each other and answer any questions you may have.
