Job Purpose

The Technology Integration Specialist is responsible for supporting the effective use of technology to enhance teaching and learning across all K-12 schools within the district. This role involves providing professional development, technical support, and instructional guidance to teachers, administrators, and staff to help them integrate technology tools and resources into their curriculum and pedagogical practices. The Specialist acts as a bridge between technology and educational goals, ensuring technology initiatives align with district objectives and learning outcomes.

Duties

and Responsibilities
  • Design, deliver, and facilitate professional development workshops, sessions, and resources for teachers, administrators, and staff on the effective use of educational technology tools and platforms (e.g., learning management systems, educational apps, interactive software, productivity tools, digital resources).
  • Provide one‑on‑one coaching and small‑group support to educators as they integrate technology into their classroom instruction.
  • Develop and maintain online learning resources, tutorials, and guides related to technology integration.
  • Stay current with emerging educational technologies and best practices in technology integration.
  • Collaborate with curriculum directors, specialists, instructional coaches, other district‑level academic administrators, and department heads to identify opportunities for technology integration within district‑approved curriculum standards and learning objectives.
  • Assist district‑level administration in evaluating, selecting, and implementing appropriate technology tools to meet approved district instructional initiatives.
  • Support the creation and use of digital content and online learning experiences.
  • Promote digital citizenship, media literacy, and responsible technology use among students and staff in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
  • Provide advanced‑level technical support related to educational software and online platforms used in classrooms and administrative settings.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and elevate them appropriately to the IT support team when necessary.
  • Help manage and maintain district‑wide educational software licenses and accounts.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of district‑wide technology plans and strategies.
  • Assist in the evaluation and piloting of new educational technology tools and resources.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to ensure technology infrastructure supports educational needs.
  • Help manage the inventory and deployment of educational assistive technology devices across the district.
  • Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and appropriate staff regarding technology initiatives, resources, and support.
  • Participate in district meetings, committees, and professional learning communities related to technology and education.
  • Build positive relationships with school staff to foster a collaborative environment for technology integration.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or a related field preferred.
Experience
  • Successful experience integrating technology effectively into classroom instruction.
  • Successful experience providing professional development and training in an educational environment.
  • Successful experience providing technical support for educational hardware and software is preferred.
Knowledge
  • Deep expertise and knowledge in instructional and informational technology.
  • Broad knowledge of computer hardware and software applications used in instructional settings.
  • Knowledge of the Professional Learning Community process and foundational concepts.
  • Knowledge of innovation in education.
  • Knowledge of modern pedagogical approaches.
  • Knowledge of IL School Code requirements and all applicable Federal and State education requirements.
