Clarendale of Algonquin is recruiting for a hospitality-focused Chef/Cook to join our team! This position partners with the rest of our culinary team in preparing and cooking high-quality meals for our residents, families and guests. Teamwork is essential as our kitchen staff works together to create breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days each week. Come help us create delicious and nutritious meals for our community!
Here are a few of the daily responsibilities of a Chef/Cook:
- Prepare and produce food options from our menu in a manner compliant with required nutritional/dietary criteria.
- Correctly prepare meals for residents with dietary restrictions, following our policies and procedures.
- Exemplify community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and organization in the workspace and with equipment.
- Meet food quality, timeliness, appearance and presentation standards at all times.
- Interact with residents periodically to gather feedback about meal quality/temperature/appearance and share feedback with culinary team to support continuous improvement.
- Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner with colleagues, residents, families and tours.
Here are a few of the qualifications we need you to have:
- High school diploma required.
- Culinary degree preferred.
- Minimum of one year restaurant/senior living or equivalent cooking experience preferred.
- Batch cooking experience preferred.
Pay Range: $21.00/hr.
- $23.00/hr. based on experience.

Work Schedule:
Shifts include 6:00am - 2:00pm & 11:00am - 7:00pm. Weekend availability required.
