We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to lead our financial operations. In this role, you will be responsible for the production of periodic financial reports, maintenance of accounting records, and the implementation of a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk. You will ensure that all reported results comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal financial reporting standards.
Beyond technical accounting, you will provide leadership by overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable personnel in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.
- Financial Management & Reporting: issue timely and complete financial statements and management cost reports.
- Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual financial report.
- Perform financial analysis as needed for pricing decisions and operational benchmarks.
- Ensure all periodic reconciliations and debt payments are completed accurately and on time.
- Internal Controls & Compliance: maintain a documented system of accounting policies, procedures, and transaction controls; monitor debt levels and ensure strict compliance with debt covenants.
- Oversee local, state, and federal government reporting and tax filings.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and the Corporate Accounting firm.
- Team Leadership: directly supervise AP and AR personnel to ensure prompt collections and payments; manage the full employee lifecycle for the accounting team (interviewing, training, assigning work, appraising performance, resolving grievances).
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree (4‑year) in Accounting is required. - Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the Bookkeeping or Accounting field. - Technical
Skills:
Proficiency in Great Plains Dynamics and Microsoft Access; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). - Communication:
Exceptional ability to write professional reports/manuals and present financial information clearly to managers and clients. - Analytical
Skills:
Ability to interpret professional journals, business periodicals, and complex government regulations.
