Position Overview

Adjunct Faculty – Hospitality Management – MBA Program (Los Angeles Campus). The instructor will teach the following courses:
Marketing Management in the Digital Age, Marketing Research and Data Analytics, and Digital and Social Media Sales and Marketing. Each course is 8 weeks long with an additional week for preparation and grading. Courses meet one day a week for 4 hours or in an executive format.

Compensation

Hourly rate: $24 – $36, based on course requirements and level of education. Temporary, non‑benefits eligible role.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Facilitating classroom and distance/distributed learning.
  • Course and syllabus preparation.
  • Class curriculum coordination and planning.
  • Assessment and evaluation of learners.
  • Mentoring and advising students.
  • Holding office hours and meeting with students.
Skills
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to work independently and be self‑motivated.
  • High level of accuracy, attention to detail and problem‑solving ability.
  • Ability to explain complex requirements in clear and concise terms.
  • Flexibility to meet departmental and student needs and manage multiple tasks within required deadlines.
  • Strong drive to encourage, direct, hold accountable, and guide students toward task completion.
  • Effective teamwork, building trusting relationships with students and Alliant employees, including the Registrar's Office and academic departments.
  • Culture‑competent, able to communicate with diverse individuals.
  • Highly motivated, focused and results‑oriented.
  • Discretion and tact in all interpersonal interactions, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Collaborates and partners with stakeholders to support student success.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    Master’s, Doctoral or other terminal degree from an accredited university, tailored to the course content.
  • Experience:

    At least 5 years of relevant experience for Master’s level candidates.
  • Experience:

    At least 2 years of relevant experience for Doctoral level candidates.
  • Certifications, Licenses, etc.:
    None required.
Supervisory Responsibility

Direct Reports:
Program Director, Master of Business Program (MBA). Indirect Reports:
None.

Contact Responsibility

Internal:
Interacts with Program Director, Campus Director and Academic Program Coordinator for support and guidance during the instructional term. Main communication is between Adjunct Faculty and currently enrolled students.

External:
None.

Work Environment

Standard office setting; exposure to low to moderate noise, odors, temperature changes and ordinary office equipment. Frequent use of computers, phones, printers and other standard office equipment.

Physical Requirements

Regular sitting, mobile, continual communication, regular keyboarding, regular reading of print and digital material, and other activities required to perform essential functions.
