Per Diem Classroom Assistant | Alhambra, California

In this rewarding role, you'll support students 1:1 or in small groups, working collaboratively with teachers and staff to ensure academic, behavioral, and social growth. Opportunities are available as needed, offering you the choice to work when it suits you best.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with academic tasks, behavior management, and social skills in classroom settings
• Provide individualized or small-group assistance under the direction of educators
• Assist students during daily transitions, routines, and classroom participation
• Follow behavior support plans and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as directed
• Safeguard student well-being by supporting mobility, supervision, and personal care when required
• Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere

School Compliance Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 18 years old
• Current TB test (as required by district)
• Ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
• Up-to-date clearances, or willingness to obtain them prior to start

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
• Background supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
• CPI, PMT, or RBT credentials a plus, but not mandatory
• Reliable, patient, and dedicated to teamwork
