Role OverviewAs a Senior Mechanical Engineer & Project Manager
, you are a technical leader and strategic thinker responsible for the mechanical design, coordination, and delivery of building HVAC systems. You’ll guide project teams, manage scopes and schedules, mentor engineers, and be a key client point of contact.
This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in a consulting environment, enjoy autonomy, and want to take ownership of important MEP engineering decisions.
What You'll DoLead Mechanical Design & Engineering
- Lead full HVAC system design: air distribution, hydronics, central plants, controls, and specialty systems.
- Develop mechanical system concepts and basis of design documents that align with performance goals and codes.
Project Delivery & Coordination
- Serve as technical lead and Engineer of Record where applicable.
- Manage mechanical scopes from schematic design through construction administration.
- Coordinate with plumbing, electrical, fire protection, architectural, and structural disciplines.
Team Leadership
- Mentor and support junior engineers and designers. Provide quality control and technical guidance across project phases.
Client & Construction Support
- Conduct site surveys, field investigations, and existing condition assessments.
- Prepare and review construction documents, specifications, and technical reports.
- Provide construction administration support (RFIs, submittals, punch walks), and commissioning oversight.
Business Support
- Contribute to proposals, fee estimates, and technical inputs during pursuits.
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 7+ years of mechanical engineering experience within an MEP consulting environment.
- Strong HVAC system design experience across commercial or institutional buildings.
- Project management experience with responsibility for scope, schedule, and coordination.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit for mechanical system design.
- Experience producing and reviewing fully coordinated construction documents.
- Strong understanding of applicable mechanical, energy, and building codes.
- Proven ability to collaborate across disciplines and communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
- High attention to technical quality, constructability, and long-term system performance.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
