Summary/Objective: Assistant Business Officer performs administrative duties with the primary responsibility of timely and accurate processing, validating, and closing of mortgage loans. To develop new business and support MLOs to expand a high-quality loan portfolio.
Essential Functions:- Setup file on loan origination system and verify the accuracy of all loan data entered into the system.
- Review loan application and all incoming documents for compliance and loan eligibility; clarify and/or obtain additional information, if necessary.
- Conduct follow-up on outstanding documentation to ensure receipt within turnaround time standards.
- Upon receipt of appraisal report, validate loans in automated underwriting system (i.e., Desktop Underwriter) and submit to underwriting in required time frames.
- Ensure regulatory requirements are met in processing the approved, cancelled, and declined loan applications.
- Maintain positive and open communications with MLOs, Underwriters and Funders.
- Enter loan information into ICBC's credit processing system in accordance with company policies.
- Handle customer inquiries and provide good customer service.
- Develop new customers and cross-sell variety of banking products and service to generate business.
- All other duties as assigned by management in accordance with company policies and State/Federal guidelines
In order to perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
- 1-2 years mortgage loan processing experience; possess a thorough understanding of various residential product/program guidelines, necessary conditions for approval, and Fannie Mae specific guidelines.
- Knowledge of residential lending's federal regulatory requirements and state regulations.
3.Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. - Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Be able to task prioritize in order to meet closing deadlines.
- Ability to perform services in person from a Bank office or branch to, among other things, access the Bank’s computer systems and engage in an interactive environment with co-workers.
This is largely a sedentary role, requiring use of typical office equipment such as a computer, laptop and cell phone.
Work is completed in person in an office environment. Walking around the office and talking to colleagues and supervisors is also required.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university. 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language/CommunicationSkills:
Able to read and interpret documents such as operating and procedure manuals. Able to write routine reports and correspondence. Fluency in Cantonese/Mandarin and English is a plus.
