St. Elizabeth is seeking a full-time P.E. Teacher for the school year. The P.E. Teacher will report to the school Principal and is responsible for planning and implementing the instructional program for grades PreK‑3 through 6th grade and for athletic activities.
Ministerial CharacterThe Diocesan Bishop is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the particular Church (the Diocese) entrusted to him. He shares with his collaborators the apostolic mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them. Each position employed in the Diocese of Corpus Christi helps extend the ministry of the Bishop by fulfilling the duties outlined below.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Support and uphold the philosophy of Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese in both professional and personal life.
- Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- Continuously grow in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, training sessions, and reflection activities as directed.
- Formulate and plan all physical activities using diocesan curriculum, including sports activities.
- Coordinate extra‑curricular sports activities with designated parties.
- Encourage and promote a positive attitude toward both winning and losing among students and assistants.
- Obtain appropriate materials and equipment for instructional activities.
- Honor and adhere to the code and directives of the Parochial Sports League of the Diocese of Corpus Christi.
- Attend in‑services, workshops, and other school/parish events as instructed by the Principal.
- Perform other duties as instructed by the Principal.
- Ability to carry, pull, push, lift, or move objects 10 pounds or more.
- Maintain composure under duress and emotional control under stress.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Texas driver's license.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Support the goals of Catholic tradition in education.
- Prior coaching experience preferred.
- Effective skills in technology.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage duties effectively and tactfully.
- Submit to employment‑required screenings, including a criminal history background check, motor‑vehicle record check, and drug screening.
- Certification in Safe Environment training, provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources.
- Adhere to Diocesan policies and procedures.
