Accounting Assistant

We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to join an on-site team in Pennsylvania. This contract to permanent opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on accounting work, supports day-to-day financial operations, and contributes to month-end activities in a collaborative office setting. The position offers part-time hours of about 20 per week with flexibility in scheduling while helping maintain accurate and timely financial records.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and send customer invoices and account summaries with a strong focus on accuracy and timeliness.
• Record incoming payments to the appropriate customer accounts and keep daily transaction records up to date.
• Review vendor invoices to confirm supporting details, correct account coding, and required approvals before processing.
• Enter accounts payable activity into the accounting system using proper general ledger classifications.
• Track outstanding receivables, review aging reports, and assist with follow-up efforts on overdue balances.
• Respond to billing and payment inquiries from customers in a thorough and service-oriented manner.
• Contribute to month-end close by assisting with reconciliations, supporting schedules, and related documentation.
• Provide broader accounting support as needed to help keep financial records organized, accurate, and current.
