Senior Technician – DermLite m​/f​/x

Derm Lite is seeking a Senior Technician to repair and maintain our imaging units and to act as a technical point of contact across departments. The role combines hands-on repair work with cross-functional coordination, connecting Service, Sales, R&D, and Customer Success. The ideal candidate has a background in assembly or production, strong technical understanding, and the ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Your responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair medical imaging units based on technical documentation, schematics, and manufacturer specifications.
• Serve as the primary technical point of contact for other departments on repair status, unit issues, and technical questions.
• Read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals to identify root causes of unit malfunctions.
• Coordinate with Sales and Customer Success to align repair timelines and communicate updates to customers and distributors.
• Work with R&D to escalate recurring technical issues and contribute field feedback to product improvement.
• Maintain accurate repair records, including parts used, labor time, and root-cause documentation.
• Support quality checks and final testing of repaired units prior to return shipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of repair processes and documentation.

• Completed technical training or apprenticeship in electronics, mechatronics, medical technology, or a related field.
• Experience in assembly, production, or manufacturing environments, ideally within medical devices or precision equipment.
• Proven ability to read and work from technical documentation, drawings, and schematics.
• Hands-on repair and troubleshooting experience with electronic or opto-mechanical devices.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics to non-technical colleagues.
• Reliable, structured, and comfortable acting as a liaison between technical and commercial teams.
• Strong written and spoken English.

• Experience in a regulated medical device environment (ISO 13485, MDR, or similar).
• Familiarity with CRM or service ticketing systems (e.g., Salesforce).
• Prior experience in a customer-facing or cross-departmental role.
• A structured onboarding and a collaborative, cross-functional team environment.
