The Manager
- Business Assurance & Compliance is responsible for leading and overseeing the organization's environmental compliance programs, quality control, and ESG sustainability initiatives across all GLOVIS America operations. This role provides strategic and operational leadership to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, drives continual improvement of ISO-based management systems, and supports corporate ESG, GHG, quality and sustainability reporting requirements.

The Manager serves as a subject matter expert and people leader, guiding cross-functional teams and site personnel in regulatory compliance, environmental performance improvement, and external sustainability disclosures. This position plays a critical role in maintaining compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards and supporting emerging climate and ESG regulatory requirements (e.g., SB 253 / SB 261).

Compensation: $89,000-$113,000 (based on compensation study)

Responsibilities & Essential Functions

Business assurance, compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of corporate environmental compliance programs, financial risk assessment, quality control, ESG and sustainability.
  • Plan, prepare, execute, report and follow-up on scheduled audits in accordance with professional auditing standards.
  • Monitor and interpret federal, state, and local environmental regulations and ensure operational compliance across all facilities.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, inspections and ISO audits.
  • Develop, implement and maintain internal audit policies and procedures. Compile and execute internal and certification ISO audit plans.
  • Develop audit scopes, identify key risks, and evaluate internal controls. Document audit findings, observation and improvement opportunities.

EHS & Quality Management Systems & ISO Leadership

  • Provide leadership and oversight for ISO 14001 (Environmental), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety), and ISO 9001 (Quality) management systems.
  • Lead internal audits, gap assessments, management reviews, and corrective action tracking.
  • Ensure environmental and sustainability elements are effectively integrated into the company's Integrated Management System (IMS).
  • Maintain controlled documentation, registers, and records in accordance with ISO and corporate governance requirements.

  • Frequent computer, writing, and keyboard use
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Work environment includes office and operational/port facility settings
  • Communication primarily conducted via phone and email
