Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full-time Automotive Build Technicians for an automotive Tier 1 supplier. This role involves installing, calibrating, and troubleshooting advanced test equipment in development vehicles, including thermocouples, transducers, sensors, fiber optics, and accelerometers. The ideal candidate will combine mechanical and electrical expertise with strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate test data and reliable vehicle performance.
This position is based out of Allen Park, MI and offers AM & PM shifts plus possible overtime. Candidates meeting the requirements for this Automotive Build Technician Position below are strongly encouraged to apply.
Shift Schedule- AM day shift: 6:45 am to 3:30 pm (Monday - Friday + overtime as needed)
- PM night shift: 3:15 pm to 1:15 am (Monday - Friday + overtime as needed)
- Install, modify, adjust, and calibrate test devices in development vehicles
- Build and install low voltage wire harnesses to drawings and schematics
- Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components
- Must have own tools with rolling toolbox
- Read, interpret, and follow service procedures
- Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance/calling for repairs
- Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of mechanical experience
- Ability to follow written procedures, work instructions, schematics, and shop manuals.
- Knowledge of proper installation of thermocouples and pressure transducers
- Knowledge of repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replacing parts and components
- Must possess strong organizational skills
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Possess the skills to work in a team atmosphere & learn new task
- Reliable attendance & be able to work overtime/weekends
- Must possess strong attention to detail
- ASE/State certifications
- Valid driver's license
- Experience performing soldering, crimping, tube bending, component layout and packaging on vehicles or subsystems
- Knowledge of proper installation of thermocouples and pressure transducers
- Overtime when available
- No certification required
