Client Service Representative

Seeking an experienced Client Service Representative to join our team! VCA Allen Park is a fast paced General Practice located minutes from downtown Allen Park, and a short drive from downtown Detroit!! We have a current opening for an experienced Client Service Representative!

We're looking for a personable and highly professional "client service extraordinaire" to join us in delivering our mission to provide quality care for our clients and their pets.

Why we need you as the face of VCA, the Client Service Representative sets the tone for the practice as we build and maintain each customer's trust and confidence in our abilities. The CSR is the pivot around which the hospital operates and is responsible for:

  • Customer service functions, including: greeting visitors, answering telephones, and guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms.
  • Scheduling and confirming appointments.
  • Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients.
  • Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments.
  • Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions.
  • Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control).
  • Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence.
  • Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste) and ensuring that facility is neat and clean at all times—both inside and outside.

Education/Experience

Education

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Type & Years of Experience

Required

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a client-facing role, preferably within a veterinary, healthcare, or customer service environment.

Preferred

  • Experience handling appointment scheduling, payment processing, and customer inquiries is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with veterinary terminology, medical records management, and prescription handling is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining professionalism and empathy.

Computer Proficiency

Required

  • Basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)

Preferred

  • Proficiency with scheduling software, and point-of-sale systems
  • Experience with veterinary practice management software (e.g., AVImark, Cornerstone) or similar platforms to streamline scheduling, billing, and record-keeping processes.
