Job Description & How to Apply Below

We made history and now we work to transform the future – for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

At Ford, our commitment to engineering the world’s best performance vehicles isn't just a business goal, it’s our origin story. It began in 1901 when Henry Ford’s "Sweepstakes" race car utilized mechanical fuel injection and insulated spark plugs to win his first and only race. That victory provided the notoriety and funding to launch Ford Motor Company.

Today, that same spirit drives the Ford Performance team. From the sands of Baja to the pavement of Le Mans, our success on the track fuels the development of our road‑going icons. We are the team behind the Raptor, Mustang GT350, the legendary Ford GT, and the next generation of high‑performance vehicles.

Product Development uses design thinking & user experience methods to deliver breakthrough products and services that delight our customers. We bring innovative, exciting, and sustainable ideas to life.

We have opportunities around the world for you to contribute to advancements in autonomy, electrification, smart mobility technologies, and more!

In this position...

  • The Ford Performance Electrical Team is seeking an independent, empowered, and passionate Electrical Systems Integration Engineer.
  • In this role, you will be the technical glue that holds our vehicle programs together, leading the pre‑design, design, and launch phases of current and future Ford Performance programs.
  • You will ensure that the "Ford Racing DNA" is woven into every electrical circuit and system we build.
Responsibilities

What you'll do...

  • Drive Design & Development:
Lead the design of Ford Performance‑specific electrical content, coordinating technical reviews between component and EDS (Electrical Distribution System) engineers to ensure total system integrity.
  • Bridge the Gap:
Survey engineers for electrical interfaces and ensure device transmittals are accurately populated in VSEM to support EDS wiring development.
  • Validate Excellence:
Build Design Verification (DV) requirements for system‑level functions and perform rigorous validation testing to ensure product compliance.
  • Own the Launch:
Support vehicle builds onsite at assembly plants, represent the electrical team on evaluation drives, and manage BOM sign‑offs for pre‑production events.
  • Solve Complex Problems:
Root cause and resolve electrical issues as they arise, utilizing breadboards, CAN tools, and data logging to troubleshoot modules and systems.
  • Lead Partners:
Manage Full Service Suppliers (FSS) and internal/external resources to deliver programs on time and to performance targets.
  • Navigate Tools:
Utilize Ford’s engineering suite (FEDE, WERS, AIMS, JIRA, 5/8

Ds, QUIP, eCATs) to manage deliverables throughout the GPDS lifecycle.
Qualifications

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in automotive electrical systems.
  • Experience in new vehicle launch environments.
  • Proficiency with Ford engineering tools and processes (GPDS, FEDE, WERS, AIMS, DFMEA).
  • Technical experience with CAN tools (CAN log collection, module software flashing, Bus Queries, VSCS, or Novellus Data Logger).

Even better, you may have...

  • Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • A deep‑stated passion for performance vehicles.
  • Proven ability to handle complex tasks under compressed "racing‑speed" timelines.
  • Strong "One Ford" leadership behaviors with the ability to build relationships across multi‑functional teams (Studio, Purchasing, Body Engineering, and Vehicle Operations).

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series…
