Overview
Product Development uses design thinking and user experience methods to deliver breakthrough products and services for Ford Racing, focusing on autonomy, electrification, smart mobility technologies, and more.
Responsibilities- Work with Design and Release engineers to expand the use of Additive Manufacturing where it provides business value.
- Identify areas where Additive Manufacturing can accelerate design iterations or reduce capital spend for production tools.
- Collaborate with Architecture teams to target specific systems or subsystems for additive technologies early in future programs.
- Represent Ford Racing in externally led projects and coordinate related efforts with program and functional teams.
- Communicate program requirements—functional, timing, financial—to external partners to ensure success.
- Travel primarily for site visits; additional travel may be optional for supplier or partner visits.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
- Deep practical experience with Additive Manufacturing, including design for additive manufacturing, build set‑up (orientation, support, slicing), build execution, and post‑build quality confirmation.
- Practical design and release experience for automotive components; solid understanding of the product development process.
- Self‑starter, highly motivated for success and an entrepreneurial mindset capable of making value‑based decisions.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with engineers.
- Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Background and passion for enthusiast products or motorsports.

This position is salary grade 8, ranging from $99,100 to $166,200. Final determination of salary grade will be based on the candidate’s skills and experience.

Work ArrangementThis position is hybrid; candidates within commuting distance of a Ford hub location may be required to work onsite four or more days per week.
