- Manage all aspects of a new engine design from concept to launch
- Work closely with component design and release engineers, powertrain and vehicle engineers, purchasing, and finance to handle overall program delivery
- Lead component design and release activities
- Own the 3D models for the entire engine assembly
- Lead sub-system Component Program Module Team (CPMT) activities
- Lead WERS alerts, concerns, and notice processing
- Lead resolution of major design, manufacturing, program, and launch issues
- Lead management of casting and machining suppliers for the cylinder block and similar components
- Collaborate with CAE resources on structural, thermal, and CFD analysis
- Create, complete, and approve DVPs and oversee testing for robust validation
- Lead development of CPMT and quality documents, including FEDE, ESOW, DFMEA, PTDV, e3P, SCCAFs, Global Integrator, OPTIX, PPAP, and 543 Chart
- Lead program meetings, including EPMT, Design Review, DPMT, and Change Control
- Work with suppliers, Supplier Technical Assistance, and launch teams to support program requirements and resolve quality issues
- Interface with the engine dynamometer testing team
- Interface with purchasing, mating components, calibration, and manufacturing teams
- Support prototype engine build Program Attribute Team activities, including BOM, inspection, and prototype fit reviews
- Support domestic and international travel when required
- BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
- 6+ years Design and Release Experience
- 6+ years of experience in CAD (CATIA, NX, CREO, or similar)
- Technical expertise with Gasoline Internal Combustion Engines (ICE)
- Experience with base engine dynamometer testing
- Experience with CAE Simulation Methodologies (1D, 3D, FEA, CFD)
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact effectively with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Strong Leadership ability
- Working-level CAD experience
- Visa sponsorship is not available
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to support domestic and international travel when required
Demonstrates expertise in engine design and release processes, with a strong focus on CAD tools and CAE simulation methodologies. Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage supplier relationships to ensure successful program delivery.
